A Prayer for the Seventh Sunday after Trinity

Lord we acknowledge that You are the Master Gardener, sowing goodness and righteousness in our lives. Help us to nurture the seeds of faith and love, allowing them to take root and flourish. Teach us how to tend to our spiritual gardens, cultivating what is good and holy, that Your harvest may be abundant and pure. Yet we remember that, while we sleep, the enemy comes and sows weeds among the wheat. We are reminded that sometimes we may unwittingly welcome negativity, doubt, or harmful influences into our lives. We ask for Your discernment to identify the weeds that arise within our hearts and around us.

Amen.

(5) INTERMENT OF ASHES - ARTHUR EDWARDS

We would like to invite you to attend this service to be held at Holy Cross Church on 6 August at 2.30 pm.

Dad worked for the church in one way or another for as many years as I can remember. Attending church and church activities was a huge part of our lives as we grew up. Sadly Dad passed away suddenly in October last year and his wish had been for his ashes to be interred at Holy Cross church, a church he had been very happy working and worshiping in since coming to live on the Island in 2014.

This year, on 6 August, it would have been Mum and Dad's 60th wedding anniversary, their precious Diamond celebration. Mum thought this would be a good date to finally commit Dad's ashes and celebrate his last wish.

After the church service you are very welcome to come and help us celebrate this occasion with a cream tea (Dad's favourite teatime treat especially if there was lashings of clotted cream)!

Please let Mum know if you would like to join us for tea (for catering purposes). Her email address is arthur.barbara@hotmail.co.uk

Best wishes Sim and Barbara
