Prayer for 16th Sunday after Trinity
Lord, we confess that at times we compare ourselves to others, measuring worth by effort,
time, or recognition. Yet You teach us that in Your Kingdom, the last may be first, and the first last. Help us to rejoice when others are blessed, even if their journey began later than ours. Grant us hearts that celebrate Your generosity, not only when it benefits us, but when it
overflows to others. Teach us to trust that You see our labour, You know our needs, and You
reward according to Your perfect wisdom.

Prayer for the sick
We pray for those who are sick and who ask for our prayers: Joan C, Emma, Brenda, John,
Tim, Catherine, Elizabeth, Millie, Jackie, Paul B, Clay and Dariel. We also remember silently
in our hearts: Heather, Ann, Dave, Monica, Hester, Kerry, Izabel and Paul.
Rest in peace
We remember those who have died recently and pray for their families at this sad time.

(3) Harvest Festival 4th October
This year we will be taking donations of non-perishable food items for a hamper that we will be donating to the Foodbank. A monetary donation can also be made if preferred. Following the morning Harvest service, we will be serving Apple cake and cream and very much hope you will join us.
(4) Vectis Brass Band Autumn Concert
At Holy Cross Church, 7 pm on Thursday 8 October, helping to raise funds for a defibrillator. Free entry with retiring collection (a poster accompanies the e-version of this pew leaflet).
Help required at Holy Cross
Paul and Sandra would like a bit of help with cleaning the church on Monday mornings 9.00 to 10.30. After the work in the chancel there is some very fine dust around the woodwork and it needs a fine brush and some patience - lovely as the carvings are they do attract the dust.
Nothing heavy; you can even sit down if necessary. Ring (01983) 638198 if you can spare some time.
The Nave Café at All Saints
We are looking for volunteers to support our new café, which is now open weekdays. To find

Road closures in Binstead
Dates notified: Church Road closed 25 May – 31 July; Pitts Lane closed 31 July – 9 October
(As of September 7th, Church Road was open as far as the track to the west that forms the
coast path. Beyond that, there is a trench by the hedge as the junction with Pitts Lane is
approached and a fenced hole in the middle of the junction with Pitts Lane and Ladies Walk!
Getting past this hole to the area of car parking by the church is possible with care.)
