A Prayer for the Ninth Sunday after Trinity
Lord Jesus, You saw the hunger of the crowd and welcomed them with compassion. With just five loaves and two fish, You showed us that in Your hands, even the smallest offering becomes more than enough. Teach us to bring what little we have - our time, our gifts, our hearts - trusting that You can multiply them for the good of many. Open our eyes to the needs around us
Amen.

(3) INTERMENT OF ASHES - ARTHUR EDWARDS
We would like to invite you to attend this service to be held at Holy Cross Church on 6 August at 2.30 pm. Dad worked for the church in one way or another for as many years as I can remember. Attending church and church activities was a huge part of our lives as we grew up.
Sadly Dad passed away suddenly in October last year and his wish had been for his ashes to be interred at Holy Cross church, a church he had been very happy working and worshiping in since coming to live on the Island in 2014. This year, on 6 August, it would have been Mum and Dad's 60th wedding anniversary, their precious Diamond celebration. Mum thought this would be a good date to finally commit Dad's ashes and celebrate his last wish.
After the church service you are very welcome to come and help us celebrate this occasion with a cream tea (Dad's favourite teatime treat especially if there was lashings of clotted cream)!
Please let Mum know if you would like to join us for tea (for catering purposes). Her email address is arthur.barbara@hotmail.co.uk and her telephone number is 07827 620232
We hope to see you on 6 August. Best wishes Sim and Barbara
