Prayer for 2nd Sunday before Lent

Lord, when the weight of our daily struggles feels heavy upon our shoulders, help us to recognize the truth of what Christ teaches. You tell us Take no thought for your life, what you shall eat, or what you shall drink; nor yet for your body, what you shall put on. Instil in our hearts the understanding that life is so much more than the physical provisions we seek. It is a precious gift meant for deeper communion with You, our Creator.

Amen

Prayer for the sick

We pray for those who are sick and who ask for our prayers: Patrick, Mike, Joan C, Emma, Len, Neil, Joan L, John and Elizabeth L'E. We also remember silently in our hearts: Heather, Jackie, Ann, Dave, Brenda, Monica, Hester, Kerry, Izabel and Paul.

Rest in peace

We remember those who have died recently and pray for their families at this sad time.

In Memoriam

We pray for all those who remember the anniversary of those who are recorded in our memorial book for this week Bertram James ‘Bert’ Snow, Barry Wyatt, John Alban Rowland, Keith Gerald Ball, Dorothy Gertrude Priest, Alison M Batten, John Reginald Dear, Geoffrey Percy Hindhaugh

Food, Friends & Fellowship

The lunch group meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 12 noon in Havenstreet Community Centre. The lunch usually consists of homemade soup & bread, “ploughman’s type” lunch, dessert, cake, coffee or tea. No fixed amount is charged, just a donation is welcomed. The lunch group is open to anyone who enjoys a chat in a relaxed atmosphere. Transport can be arranged, so why not give us a try.
