Prayer for the Second Sunday of Advent
Lord we come to You as people came to John the Baptist to confess—In the silence we
allow the memories and the words to rise up so that we may speak them to You. Here's what
we've been carrying around, the harm we've done knowingly or unknowingly to ourselves
and others, here's what has crowded out Your Voice of Love...Give us grace to continuously
prepare a way for You in our hearts, our community and our world. Come Lord Jesus, Amen.
Prayer for the sick
We pray for those who are sick and who ask for our prayers: Patrick, Mike, Joan C, Emma
and Len. We also remember silently in our hearts: Heather, Jackie, Ann, Dave, Brenda,
Monica, Hester, Kerry, Izabel, John and Paul.
Rest in peace
We remember those who have died recently and pray for their families at this sad time.
In Memoriam
We pray for all those who remember the anniversary of those who are recorded in our
memorial book for this week
Jennifer Mary Flower, Ivanka ‘Vana’ Smith, Edward ‘Ted’ and Valerie Dwight, Arthur John and Ellen Elsie May Hattersley, Ron Sullivan, Patricia Anne Tulloch, Thomas Wallis Glenny,
Victor Greenaway, Donald Stannard Barton, Marjorie Dye.

The social committee would appreciate any help on Saturday to welcome visitors; we are also hoping all the congregation will pop in some time during the day to see the displays, have a hot drink and a mince pie etc and look at the Christmas stalls, win a Christmas Hamper and learn about St Nicholas.
