Vectis Brass Band Autumn Concert on Thursday 8th October

1 min read

An autumn brass band concert has a particular kind of warmth. The evenings draw in, coats come back out, and the sound of cornets, trombones, baritones, euphoniums and basses fills a hall in a way that feels both grand and familiar.

The Vectis Brass Band Autumn Concert on Thursday 8th October will be that kind of seasonal evening. It is a chance to hear live brass music up close, to support a local musical group, and to enjoy a programme that can move from bold marches to lyrical melodies in a single sitting.

Why a community defibrillator matters

A defibrillator, often called an AED, can be used when someone has a sudden cardiac arrest. In simple terms, sudden cardiac arrest means the heart has stopped pumping blood properly. It can happen without warning, and quick action matters.

A defibrillator gives clear spoken instructions and can deliver an electric shock if needed. Modern public-access defibrillators are designed for use by ordinary members of the public, not only medical professionals. The device checks the heart rhythm and will only advise a shock if one is needed.
