Prayer for All Saints
Heavenly Father, in a world that is becoming more violent and where the love of many has
grown stone-cold, it is often a temptation to judge, and condemn those that hurt or harms us - or cause pain to those we love. Give us the grace to live as Christ lived and to love others as He loved. Help us to take up our cross and follow You - to Your praise and glory. Amen
Prayer for the sick
We pray for those who are sick and who ask for our prayers: Patrick, Mike, Joan C and
Emma. We also remember silently in our hearts: Heather, Jackie, Ann, Dave, Brenda,
Monica, Hester, Kerry, Izabel, John and Paul.
Rest in peace
We remember those who have died recently and pray for their families at this sad time.
Janet Rosemary Joyner, Arthur John Edwards (Arthur was a Lay Reader who led services,
preached and provided pastoral support to many in these churches), Margaret Goodman
In Memoriam
We pray for all those who remember the anniversary of those who are recorded in our
memorial book for this week
John Line, Yvonne Thomas, Dorothy Vereen Wilks, Muriel Kirkman, Caroline Joyce ‘Carrie’
Leake, Christopher Willoughby.

A message from Barbara Edwards
A very heartfelt thank you to everyone who has sent me flowers, cards, letters and
messages of condolences on Arthur's passing. I am extremely grateful for all the kind words
that have been expressed. His passing was very sudden and totally unexpected but at last
he is at peace after such a long time fighting his multitude of illnesses. Due to Arthur's
sudden death it has taken some time to make funeral arrangements but as soon as I have a
date I will let you know. We both enjoyed our life at Holy Cross and St Peter's and in time I will be back worshipping with you all.
Holy Cross Library
At the back of Holy Cross there are shelves of Christian devotional
books that are available to borrow. This collection was set up by Chris Etherton when he
was priest. Please make use of them.
Contact telephone for Holy Cross and St Peters
Telephone 01983 242906 for the Ryde Plurality Office (fully staffed Tuesday to Thursday, on other days matters will be dealt with as soon as can be) who will direct you as required.
If you know of someone who has received electronic pew sheets in the past, but not since I
took over as editor, do ask them to check their spam folder: I know this is where one
recipient’s emails from me have disappeared! Sue
